Rise and Grind
The crappy internet here at my second home (the Main Library) has done it again and deleted my last post but I have made the executive decision not to throw my new and improved computer against the wall and just write it again. Mondays usually go a little like that for me (good day bad day kinda stuff.) This Monday happens to be beautiful out but I'm obviously at the library not taking advantage of it. This weekend was a good one. While it was not as productive as I would have liked I was surrounded by my favorite people (including but not limited to the NC crew) just sharing laughs and making memories. It was a sad weekend because it was officially Peter's last weekend in Champaign for a long long time. No need to fear, we will be throwing a going away party for him on Wednesday night and if you are in Champaign feel free to stop by but we will really miss him around here. At said party, Olivia will be sporting the newest addition to her wardrobe (courtesy of Aunt Bertille) that reads, "I'm related to Peter Lutz and Maris Witry." The premise behind this shirt is that our family honestly believes that Peter and I are the most popular two on campus (haha) and Olivia will move up the social hierarchy much faster if people know we all share the same blood. I think it is a great shirt and will be quite the hit on Wednesday night. Last night was Nolan's 17th birthday (yay for R rated movies, cigs, and lotto tix!) but seriously I can't believe he is 17! I asked what he picked for his birthday dinner (tradition in our house is that you get to pick what you want for dinner that night, his used to be hotdogs and Mac&Cheese but you will see he has come a long way.) He picked beef brisket, garlic mashed potatoes, and bacon salad with red velvet cupcakes for dessert (yeah I was sorry when I asked too..) My mom and Aunt Cathy are planning on coming down Thursday so give them a wave if you see them then and as for today, get out there and enjoy this weather!

Its Always Rainy in Champaign
Yesterday could have been qualified as a record storm. It does not even do it justice to call it raining, it was teaming. Watching the helpless people without umbrellas sprint down the street was extremely amusing and I can only laugh because I was once one of them but thanks to my mom I have a beautiful cheetah print umbrella that has protected me for a year now. I really is always rainy in Champaign. I remember telling my mom freshman year that I didn't realize central Illinois had a monsoon season. I guess we should just appreciate the warm weather (although today could cause heat stroke) while we have it because, as it turns out, central Illinois also has the capability of turning into the tundra (seriously where is that wind when its 95 degrees out?) I am done with class for the day (BOOYAH), there are ribs for dinner at the Kappa house which I will be heading over for (DOUBLE BOOYAH), and I found out that with our cable package we get HBO (TRIPLE BOOYAH!) I saw a penny heads up on the ground earlier and so far (aside from sweating through my shirt-not such a rare occurrence, and being locked out of my apartment-it could be worse) I'm having a most excellent day. I'm about to go recruit freshman to join the Kinesiology Student Association and I have to buy my books still but my junior standing and apartment living has been treating me well so far. Hope your hump day has been just as successful.

Back to School
It is hard to believe but school starts tomorrow. This summer flew by and I thoroughly enjoyed not having any work to worry about but I'm excited to start school (if I keep telling myself that maybe it will become true.) I always get a little nervous on the first day of class but my Mondays are not bad so I'm not worried. I just got back from Quad Day which I always enjoy a little too much because I love all the free stuff and people watching. We officially have one week under our belts in the new crib and it has been treating us well. We have had a lot of visitors and we want you all to come over and check it out! Yesterday was the official move in day for the building so there was a lot of traffic up and down the stairs. We were all hanging out in Peter's room (the couch) and someone's dad walked right in to our apartment thinking that it was his child's. He stared at us as we stared at him for what felt like the longest five seconds of our lives and then he finally made a super surprised face and shut the door. Naturally, we laughed for close to 10 minutes because we have all made the same mistake before and know the feeling. Last night we watched A Goofy Movie and Peter had way too much fun (he was able to say every word and sing every song.. classic.) This is also a pretty momentous day because I'm officially declaring this my one year anniversary of this blog! Thanks to Lizzy I started writing it and now, one year later, I'm still writing. Sure I've taken a couple hiatuses (what form of that word do I even use?) but overall, it has been an amazing experience and I have to admit even I laughed when I went back and read ones like the time I fell off the treadmill or had to scrape mortar off of bricks. I hope to continue to keep up with it and thanks for reading!

Apartment Living
Sorry for the delay it has been due to lack of internet but we can thank the cool cable guy and my checkbook for fixing that! My room is still not completely put together but it is getting there. Our kitchen is extremely organized and clean thanks to Courtney and we've actually been able to make meals and host parties and clean dishes. Our porch has lights on it (typical), we have rock band (thanks to Allison and Pat), and we also have a bookshelf (for DVD's obviously not books) thanks to Mrs. G. Molly, Courtney, Peter, and I (we're still waiting for Emily to return and give the apartment her magic touch) have enjoyed many moments together doing everything from losing a key to having the toilet overflow. Olivia is now in Champaign and her room is super cute but boiling, ours is pretty warm too (we're a little cheap for air) but with the door wide open we're getting by. We were also hoping that by having our door open we could meet our neighbors but apparently we need a jello mold to do something like that. I think my balcony is my favorite place in the apartment and if all of you visit (which I sincerely hope you do) you will understand why. We still need some chairs for it but this whole place is a work in process. I really enjoy being back in Champaign and reuniting with all my friends, this week has been a blast! A blast aside from the rush part obviously. We are practicing for rush and while its not going to be as bad as the actual thing, but it is exhausting. I'm just getting used to sleeping in a room by myself in a full bed. Considering I have had a roomie and slept in a twin bed my whole life, it is a big adjustment but who am I kidding, the whole thing is. I'm both looking forward to school and dreading it at the same time but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. For now, I'm enjoying my life with little to do, hope you're feeling the same way.

Driving
Since my accident a couple years ago, driving has not been my favorite activity. Long story short, I was blocking all traffic eastbound on Touhy (probably screwed up a couple people's commutes...) It was about 7:30 AM so when I got to school, lots of people (which turned out to be more than I had anticipated or hoped for) had seen me but it blew over by a little later that afternoon (PHEW.) Ever since that day I have not taken a left turn off Touhy onto Western and left turns, in general, still irk me. This however, did not change my one rule while driving with the rest of my family. If I am the oldest in the car, I have to be the one driving (I don't know why but I can't stand to be in the back while Nolan or Olivia drives-it's an OCD thing.) Today, Olivia and I were coming back from the dentist (don't have to go back for a whole 6 months WOO!) and she asked why I sit so close to the steering wheel, a question I'm sure you have all contemplated as well. As it turns out, I'm 5'2" (5'3" on a good day), which means I have super short legs causing me to sit really close to the wheel. The other reason is that I drive with the middle of my foot because my toes are not nearly as dexterious as you would think. I have much more control with the middle of my foot and it is just more comfortable. This may be detrimental if I ever get into another accident, being so close to the steering wheel and whatnot, but in a roundabout way, it's preventing an accident. Usually I don't enjoy driving but when I'm at school and deprived from a car for months at a time, a couple joyrides are good fun.

Caffeine
I like to tell people that caffeine doesn't effect me much (before like 7 pm that is) but that only rings true in the past couple years. The first real run-in with caffeine I had was Amy's 10th birthday party. It was a Sunday night in January and we went to Medieval Times to celebrate. We spent the night feasting on chicken wings and soup, screaming at the top of our lungs for the red knight, and drinking lotsssss of Pepsi. At first I was somewhat unaffected by the Pepsi but as the night went on I became more and more wired which involved screaming even louder for the red knight (I'm sure the people surrounding us LOVED me.) Being the extremely shy child I was I'm sure Mrs. K was more than shocked at my bold behavior. I was chatting incessantly and way too hyped up on our drive home around 11. When I got home I went to bed but sleep never came. I spent the night staring at the ceiling (which was about a foot and a half from my face because I lived on the top bunk) for hours on end. Long story short, I didn't sleep much that night. School on Monday was a little rough and although I learned that lesson the hard way, it was totally worth it. I now know that Coke trumps Pepsi in every instance so I'll never run into this issue ever again.
Kickball
Back in the day we used to go to my dad's college friends houses. There were always the first awkward 10 minutes where kids from all the families were told to "mingle" and become insta-friends. Usually it didn't even take that long to pick up right where we left off about 6 months before. In typical fashion I could be found with the adults eating hors d'oeuvres for the first half hour and then proceed to hang out with the rest of the kids. One particular time we went over to the Lemenager's house. We all used to love going out there because they had a trampoline and a swing set and we always played soccer (they thought Olivia and I were awesome for some reason.) This summer night there were a couple families which meant lots of kids. Being the competitive people that we are, we decided to organize a kickball game. It was going pretty well (my team was winning, obviously) until it was my turn at bat. The ball rolled in at the perfect angle, I geared up and gave it my all. My all, however, was a little too much. I hit the pitcher directly in the arm and he fell to the ground. At first I tore off towards first base because we all thought he was laughing and by the time I was rounding second, we realized he was crying and clutching his arm. After careful debate we decided to tell the parents what had happened and he was shuffled off to the emergency room. Word came back that it was just a hairline fracture which wasn't so bad. I still felt awful and every time we have gone back to their house, the boy who's arm I broke has had "previous commitments" which made me feel even worse but his parents just laugh it off. Hard to believe that all 70 pounds of me could break a kids arm but it won me some street cred for a little while. I wonder what he told people happened...

Cooties
Last night I took Michael and his friend to the movie Captain America. It turned out to be a good movie (a little tense at moments) but I enjoyed it. We saw it at the Pickwick (I think we definitely helped keep it open yet another day by attending.) The only problem with the experience was that the boys did not want to sit with me in the theater, my only guess is that I have cooties (thought I got rid of those a long time ago). So I had to sit by myself. This wasn't THAT big of an issue because Chris Evans, the main character, is a babe so me seeing it alone wouldn't have been too outrageous but there was a pretty eclectic crowd at the theater. There were two people on a date, an extremely old couple, two 30 year old men (weirdest pair for sure), and us, so the fact that I was alone was a little bizzare but what are you gonna do? Today, we were walking Sophie (it took close to half an hour to put her collar on because she hates it so much) and apparently I did an awful job of putting it on because we were barely across the street when she managed to phanagil out of the collar and take off down the street. Michael and I have been working out this summer though and managed to catch her in no time. The biggest news of the day is that Olivia is now 19!!! I can still remember the birthday where I got her a single bottle of ketchup as a present (she loves ketchup..) She didn't have to work today and she picked potato soup and chicken for her dinner (at least its not Mac & Cheese like it used to be.) If you want to come over for dessert that is TBA but come on over, the more the merrier!

Back to Reality
We are finally back from Door County which is bittersweet. I would love to still be reading on the beach with the best family in the world but duty calls. My firm belief in the fact that "everything is funnier in church" rang true as a truly tone deaf woman took the stand and sang on our first night there. I'm proud to say that we made it half way through mass before the breakdown (the only people not to laugh were my dad, Uncle G, Nolan, and Katie-props to them). In my family, we have this sickness where its hard for us not to laugh at someone that has just gotten hurt or is doing something embarrassing without even being aware of it. Back to my story, I made it to verse 2 of the song before i was shaking with laughter.. as the refrain came, I concentrated (HARD) on the ceiling and took very deep breaths.. it didn't work too well. Verse 3 had me literally crying I was laughing so hard and I was sweating bullets. If I had been close to my mom I probably would have had to leave the premises but like I said, everything is funnier in church. We spent the rest of our (and by our I mean 2 sisters, 1 brother, 2 parents, 12 cousins, 4 aunts and uncles, and a partidge in a pear tree) time in Door County reading and doing puzzles (2 of my favorite things to do and I dare you to call me a loser for saying that) We could have hosted a book club on Unbroken so many people read it but it was the best book I have read in a long time and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good read. We did take a time out for Wilsons (I got Caramel Collision and Peppermint.. yes we obviously made 2 trips.) We also made it to Pirate's Cove for probably the worst collective round of mini golf in family history. I'm going to blame my poor performance on lack of practice with my teammates Courtney, Corby, and whoever we deemed worthy of joining us. There's always next year. We were all a little sad we didn't run into Max and Phil up there but we made up for it with performance night over at our house. My little cousins (Nora, Catherine, and Caroline) brought up their Wii and the Glee Sing-a-Long as well as Just Dance 2. We left the singing to Caroline (at age 3 she knocked "Don't Stop Believing" out of the park.) Peter and Brian also entertained us with an animated version of "I Wanna Be Like You" from the Jungle Book (Disney songs also made it on the trip.) But since the majority of us can't sing to save ourselves, we resorted to dancing. We went up in pairs and danced our butts off and I probably added about 10 years to my life due to excessive laughing.. my favorite performer was again was Caroline. She danced to songs like Tik Tok and Satisfaction, throwing her hair and workin her hips.. if it puts it in perspective, she still gets excited when she poops in the toilet... When we were all danced out we resumed reading and watching the show No Reservations (I used to think Guy Fieri had the best job but I stand corrected, Anthony Bourdain has the best job ever.) The week flew by and on Sunday we made the trek back home and had to head back to work. Monday I went to the doctor (eeek) but I haven't been in like 3 years so it was long overdue. I only got 2 shots and the nurse was super nice so I'm just glad it's over. This week is just Michael and I, Laura is at camp, and we have been pretty bored together (I feel really bad for him.. I'm only interesting to a certain point). I think being an only child would really stink, but thats just me. Today we gave Sophie (their dog) a bath. I forgot that she was going to shake mid-bath so we got a little wet but when we got her out of the tub finally she rubbed up against me causing my once white shirt to turn see-through.. nice, I know. While we were drying her off, she started dry heaving (apparently the trauma of bath was too much for her) but we managed to avoid tangible puke, a plus in my book. As of today I am now officially the primary on my savings account (woot woot! no more Chase workers on ass!) On our way home fromt the bank, we spotted a dresser that would look super cute if sanded and painted so we decided to grab it. As Olivia and I were attempting to lift it towards the car the owner walked out and gave us a hand, he even went back inside and grabbed the handles for us! He did, however, fail to mention that it had water damage and reeked like none other.. oh well, there's always next time. Other than that, nothing is new just prepping to move into our new apartment, again if you have anything to donate it would be much appreciated!

New Driver In Town
Congratulations is in order for Nolan, the newest driver in the family!! That is both exciting and scary at the same time but I'm confident that he will be awesome. Although it dawned on me not that long ago that there are now 5 drivers and 2 cars, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think those are awful odds (HINT HINT Mom and Dad...) Today was a good day because Olivia and Cole came over and hung out with me and Michael (Laura and Jill were at volleyball camp at Northwestern - Ben I passed your house about 8 times this past week, you probably already know this but you live REALLY close to that stadium.) Michael and I had to take it easy because yesterday we went to the Cubs game. Yesterday, I woke him up and we jumped in the car, drove to Elmhurst to pick up the tickets from Emily (thanks again for those.) I quickly learned that downtown Elmhurst is one of the most difficult cities in the world to navigate. Without a smartphone or any clue that all the streets were one-way it was difficult but with my keen sense of direction instilled in my brain at a young age and Emily's help, we found it! We jetted back to Park Ridge, and headed to the Skokie Swift (only my 2nd trip to Skokie that day-I covered a lot of territory yesterday). I had never used the Skokie Swift but it worked out perfect for getting to Wrigley although our train had some technical difficulties about 20 yards from Addison which was pretty much the only set back we experienced. When we finally got inside, we were already sweating and had to take off the jerseys we were wearing (Michael let me borrow me one of his) but my hyperhydrosis reached a whole new level if you catch my drift. We had to get up within the first 5 mins and stand under the misters set up (I'm gonna blame the fact that my hair was soaking on those...) It ended up being $1 hot dog day (I LOVE DEALS especially on something as delicious as a ballpark hot dog!) The other highlight of the day was seeing Lizzy on the job! She is an intern at Wrigely (talk about an awesome job) but i felt so bad because she had to wear a polo and khaki pants in that extreme heat but it was great to catch up with her and Michael got a sticker out of the whole deal. We had to sit on our jerseys because the bleachers were so hot (hot is an understatement, we roasted) and Michael spent the majority of the game putting ice cubes in his hat and rubbing them on his wrists but I'm proud to say that we made it all the way through the 7th inning but we just couldn't take it anymore (surprisingly we are human.) The bleachers were an experience for Michael (they're an experience for anyone) but I think he had a blast. Plus, I love going to Cubs games even though I'm willing to admit that we are absolutely awful. I have successfully been to the 2 most extreme games of the season because I went with Courtney in May and we were wearing winter coats. True fan right here.

Lately
So much has happened since last time I have just been a busy woman. One of the most monumental moments was when my dad joined the "half a century" club. We celebrated in style (at Bob Chinns) which was delicious! I'm a huge food guru although if you know anything about me you know how much I love to eat. My dream job has always been to be food critic (my goal of summer was to steal Brittney Paytons job but that didn't go as planned...) Now my dad is making excuses that he is an old man but we all know he doesn't look 50... hopefully I inherit those genes! I have been a pretty big loser this summer but I'm totally fine with that. I'm doing lots of apartment planning if anyone has anything to donate or color suggestions for my room (I'm thinking a bluish gray-heavy on the blue) I would love your help! Until then I have been loving my job as a nanny. I'm getting great at Wii and Mario Kart, I am shooting 100% on my free throws, and I'm the best BSer around (in reference to the card game, obviously.) Today I went to the dentist with Laura and Michael. Personally I think the dentist is one of the worst places on earth but don't worry we made up for it by eating Culvers after leaving the office. I've been trying to eat somewhat healthy, just training for next year when I cook for myself but chips are my weakness and queso is irresistible. I can't wait until I move in and can clean (at age 5, I wanted to be a cleaning lady), cook (contradictory to popular opinion, I CAN and WILL cook-get pumped roomies), and host parties, we're thinking a singles mixer to kick things off but again, suggestions are welcome. My computer is about to die, but it opens all the way today so who even cares!! Have an awesome rest of the week and stay cool in this disgusting humidity.

Gilson
Today I went to Gilson Beach and it was like a blast from the past. There were a couple years when I was younger that we belonged to Gilson Beach and they were some of the best summers of my life. Every morning we would pick up Claire, stop at Panera and grab a Cinnamon Crunch bagel for everyone, and head to the beach where we would meet my cousins and hang out all day jumping in the waves and building masterpieces out of sand. Now I realize that we were really getting our bang for our buck. Today I had to pay $10 for parking plus $8.50 for each person, talk about a rip-off! We still had a blast though, I forgot how much I absolutely love the beach and if at all possible, I would live on a beach.. I still need to come up with my invention to turn that dream into a reality but don't we all. Tomorrow I head to the Dave Matthews Caravan for my first ever Dave Matthews concert. I'm pretty excited let me tell you! Other than that not too much to report. Hope you all enjoy the beautiful weather we are forecasted to have!

The Fourth
The fourth of July indicates to us students that summer is almost over (technically summer doesn't even start until the 21st of June but thats irrelevant in the my eyes.) I spent some of my holiday weekend in the capitol of this glorious state. Springfield was WAY more fun than I remember it. Last time was about six or so years ago and we went to the what was then new Lincoln Museum and the whole place smelled funny due to a certain type of tree blooming.. regardless, this trip to Springfield was a blast. I experienced my first Scheels (a store complete with a Ferris Wheel, every item ever imaginable, an aquarium, and talking Abraham Lincolns... soon to be expanding throughout IL.) I then experienced my first Horse Shoe. It was a piece of Texas toast with buffalo chicken (one of many choices) on it, topped with cheese fries. It was absolutely delicious and probably could feed a family of four for a week but totally worth it. We hung out on Lake Springfield during the day Saturday and I've gotta say, if ever I've made it when I get older, I'll be living on a lake. We were so tired after all that sun that Rachel and I slept right up until dinner which was absolutely delicious (steak AND shrimp, what more could a girl ask for!) We unfortunately had to head home on Sunday (thanks for the rides Kevin and Matt and a special thanks to Henry for letting me play on his phone like a 5 year old child for the whole ride.) The whole weekend was beautiful and this entire week has been. Last night my dad and I did a Tour de Park Ridge and today my butt is feeling the repercussions. Something else I did this week was eat Chef Boyardee ravioli, talk about a disgrace to the word food. I am beyond grateful that my mom is such a good cook that I have never been subjected to such things until just yesterday but I have solemnly vowed never to eat it again and I suggest the same for you. I also suggest trying the hot peppers on the sandwiches at Jimmy Johns, a most excellent upgrade if I do say so myself (definitely worth the 35 cents). Other than that not too much new, I need some book suggestions (so far I have Room and Unbroken) so you're opinions are much appreciated. Until later, Maris.

Blazin Challenge
Sorry it has been a while who would have thought that I'm even somewhat busy in the summer? Summer is not what it used to be thats for sure! I am, however, off for a week because the family I nanny for is on vacation. So, yesterday, Nolan and I completed the Blazin Challenge at Buffalo Wild Wings. 12 of the hottest wings in 6 minutes. We won t-shirts and our picture will be on TV (on a reel in the restaurant but we'll take it) well worth the blood, sweat, and tears (not to mention our swollen lips.) I felt great yesterday but today I'm not feelin so hot... Grace came out to support us all the way in Lombard (one of the only locations that offers the challenge) and I went back to Lombard to have a sushi dinner with Emily and Courtney. We were seated late and missed the happy hour special (you all know I love a good deal) but it was still fun and delicious. The day before that Grace and I spent the day downtown at the taste and staring longingly at the people on their boats because it was absolutely gorgeous outside that day! My dad met us for lunch and we tried a little bit of everything. The Taste of Chicago is really my thing I mean people watching, food, and sun, I was really in my element. Later that day I saw the movie Bad Teacher which features my middle school three different times and none of you should be surprised that every time it came on the screen I made sure everyone in the theater knew I graduated from that fine establishment. The day before that I observed at my mom's office which I always love to do (not to mention I'm racking up a ton of hours.) When we left for lunch my mom went into Whole Foods and I went to Starbucks (being efficient is a top priority of mine.) I ordered our green tea at Starbucks (it's actually not bad) and asked them to put it in a bigger cup with extra ice (apparently thats all the rage these days..) the girl behind the counter said sorry they couldn't do that. Obviously I stammered a little and said it was fine but she just laughed saying just kidding, I've always wanted to say that to someone! This little scenario just solidifies the fact that I am an easy target and have been my entire life, luckily I'm totally fine with it and just thought this girl was hilarious. The weekend before that I went to Champaign and it was fun as always, love that little town in the middle of the cornfields. I told you not long ago that I was starting to read a lot but it is coming to a standstill because this one book took a nasty turn and is all about horses now.. I HATE HORSES. In fifth grade we took a field trip to White Pines (great times) although when it was time for us to go horseback riding, I got the bad horse that rolled over in the middle of the ride causing me to jump off. Being the string bean I was, I could have easily died that day but they made me get right back on it and ride it in.. How else were we supposed to get the troubled horse back home? Needless to say I was a celebrity in the fifth grade that day but it didn't last long. The only remaining piece of that trip is that I hate horses and will never get on another in my life and you can hold me to that. I'm headed to the capitol (almost spelled it the wrong way) of this fine state for the holiday weekend to visit my favorite SHG friends! I'm pretty excited and will fill you all in on the details when I return. Until then, have a great time celebrating America's independence and remember freedom isn't free.

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to all the best dads out there! I feel a little bad that the most exciting thing we've done all day for my dad is a trip to Dick's (sporting goods.) We made a couple quality purchases and while I personally think my shorts take the cake, we are now proud owners of a badminton set. I will be setting up tournaments in the near future to benefit charity (and by charity I mean a fund for a new computer for me.) But in all seriousness, feel free to come over and play we always appreciate some friendly competition. I hope all of your weekends have been exciting. On Friday night I went to Alyssa's to celebrate her birthday (wooo for being 20!) and I had a blast. Although a big discovery was made. I always thought that the song from The Goofy Movie was called 121(one two one) but its I2I (eye to eye).. it was quite embarrassing that I have been calling it the wrong thing for 20 years but now I know the truth and it's still a great song to check out. Today is Claire's birthday, Max's birthday is tomorrow and then I'm pretty sure all of my friends will finally be 20.. no more living the teenage dream for anyone. Earlier this week I went to the library and got four books, determined to start reading more. So far it has worked quite well and while I'm still not done with my first one, I'm getting there. I think reading is the best way to expand my vocabulary and I also think that an expansive vocabulary is really impressive (transitive property in action) so I've taken to reading more. Other than that not too much is new around here. I purchased my one day Dave Matthews ticket for Saturday (hope to see you all there) and I'm looking to go to a couple other concerts this summer so keep me posted if you hear anything. It stinks that tomorrow is Monday and to make matters worse, it is supposed to rain all week but Brian is home from Afghanistan safe and sound so nothing as insignificant as the weather really matters, have a great rest of your Sunday and don't forget to hug your dad :)

Locked Out
Yesterday was the first Monday of Michael and Laura's camps. I went and picked up Michael and when we came home, we came to the sudden realization that we were locked out. We made a feeble attempt at trying to see if any windows would open but no luck. We decided to wait and see if Laura had a key so we played basketball for almost three hours. We played almost every basketball game known to man and I felt pretty bad for him because all we wanted to do was get inside and let Sophie (their dog) out of her misery. When we got in touch with Laura we found out that she did not have a key either.. buzzkill. To soften the blow we walked to Subway (thank goodness for the awesome weather) and we all felt much better once we all had some food in our stomachs. Their dad saved us by opening the door while we were out so we were finally allowed back inside. We played cards and Wii Sports Resort (I'm getting much better) and then we headed back outside (we couldn't get enough of it.) Laura got her shoe stuck on the roof but it was easily retrieved (a team effort.. Michael gave directions, Laura held the chair, and I used a rake to knock it off.) By the end of the day, we were all pretty pooped. We tend to get locked out of my house sometimes because no one ever puts the spare key back in the hiding spot so my advice for the day is always put the spare key back.. you never know the next time you're going to need it!

The Knot Has Been Tied
We are home from the wedding, sadly. I've said it once and I'll say it again, if I could pick one activity to do for the rest of my life it would be dancing at weddings. Last night has inspired my newest summer hobby, crashing weddings. You all know me well enough to know that I would never actually do this because if anyone ever did that at my wedding I would be beyond mad. I would be way too scared of getting caught but its fun to think that I could go to a wedding every weekend for the rest of my life (a girl can dream)! On Friday we got there and went to eat at Avanti's (a must in the city of Peoria.) We also had to go to the mall (conveniently located directly across the street from our hotel) to get Olivia a new dress because we washed and dried a dry clean only dress causing it to look a little more like a shirt than a dress on her. The trip to the mall ended up being a success because we got 2 dresses for $75 out of the deal (quite the steal.) To see pics of the new dress I'm sure they'll be up on Facebook before we know it. The second dress is black and ruffly and apparently had my name written all over it because my mom pulled it and said I would love it, which, I did! After that little escapade, dinner, and some cousinly bonding, we headed to bed and woke up in time for the questionable hotel breakfast. Friday night I did not sleep at all really. Why you ask? Because sharing a bed with Olivia is like sharing a bed with a fish out of water. I have never met someone that flops around in their sleep more than she does. Usually she just ends up hogging all the covers (she still did that) or laying basically on top of me to the point where I have to punch her off (she still did that too) but this was not a pleasant experience. Saturday night I was demoted to the floor (yeah, note to self: 6 people in a hotel room is rough.) I did however survive the night and got up pretty early on Saturday morning. Over the course of the morning we did virtually nothing and by the time we realized how late it was we were all scrambling to get ready on time. We made it to church with a little time to spare and got to sit right up in the front. Everything about the ceremony was beautiful (especially Erin) and the bridesmaids wore navy blue dresses (which I have already decided is the theme of my wedding.) When the ceremony was over we sent them off ringing bells wishing we could be in the wedding party! We headed back to the hotel and then a nice man named Jim shuttled us over to the reception. There I ate about 12 too many crab cakes and put way too much wasabi on the sushi, so, if I had a winced look on my face during the cocktail hour, I was just trying to compensate for the burning sensation in my nose that took forever to go away. I got to sit at a cousins table with Catie, Emily, Mandy, Nolan, Jason, Matthew, Grace, and Olivia. I would have to say we had one of the best tables at the wedding (table 30 represent.) And yes you may be surprised at the fact that there were 30+ tables but it was a massive wedding (I had no idea) but like I always say, the more the merrier. A pleasant surprise during dinner was that the beef was wrapped in bacon! Mark and Rose did an excellent job with the speeches and overall it was just a beautiful event. We managed to get a Christmas card out of the ordeal and the best family photo we've taken since the 90's. Then came the best part, dancing! We danced for hours and hours with the family and Christopher's friends and had the time of our lives. Sounds lame but dancing at weddings is up there in moments in your life when you just want to press pause and stay there for a little while because they are just way too fun. Around 1:00 AM they forced us to leave and the after party went to Steak and Shake.. I made the executive decision to eat my Kettle Cooked Chips (another Peoria specialty) and hit the hay. This morning we got up and laughed about the night at breakfast and then we hit the road. The drive went pretty fast (as fast as that drive can go) and we passed Raussmasen College (which is exactly where Nolan will be in 2 years.) I was so proud that Nolan and Grace and Jason and Matthew actually danced last night because everyone knows its just more fun when you dance! Congrats Erin and Christopher, the wedding was a blast!

Working Woman
Today was my first day back on the job and I forgot how awesome it was. We watched Full House as we played Monopoly (I actually hate Monopoly but only because it is a never ending game.) We then played Wii (I've gotta brush up on my Wii sports) but I redeemed myself in Just Dance 2. We also played Rock Band. I sang and I told them not to make fun of me but obviously that didn't happen because lets face it my singing voice is not exactly angelic. But after today I decided that our apartment for next year NEEDS Rock Band and Just Dance.. a fund to buy them will start shortly. I'm sure I've mentioned it before but I am ridiculously competitive. I have a hard time letting the kids win anything.. I actually get angry at myself when they beat me but I'm starting to get better. After that we ate a nutritious meal of potstickers, Pringles, and Chips Ahoy. We ran it all off during a game of running bases and then exercised our brains by playing a game of cards (to music picked by the two of them - I was very impressed) and before we knew it the day was over! I missed them and was very glad to be back. I'm still sore all over (my first week of P90X is over) and tomorrow we head to Peoria to watch Christopher and Erin tie the knot. Weddings are my favorite so I'm super excited! A play by play will be coming shortly, have a great weekend!

City Living
Our night out on the town was a complete success! Meredith and Jed's place looks like it could be in a magazine it is so cute, I can only hope that I have some of that decorating sense in my blood too (doubtful.) We went out to eat at a Costa Rican place that I could not pronounce no matter how hard I tried and it was absolutely delicious, even more so because I didn't pay for it (thanks guys) I mean talk about hospitality. When our food came we talked about mature things like bills and trips to Europe so now I think I am officially ready to become an adult, almost that is. I was the last one to finish eating (shocker) so Pat and I got our stuff wrapped up to go and ended up forgetting it on the table (I swear we are smarter than that scenario makes us seem..) We took a mini tour around the city and ended up back at their place. We were going to go see Bridesmaids but took a rain check (all part of the plan to see Meredith as many times as possible this summer!) Instead we did facials which we desperately needed (I have a tool of my own if anyone wants to be my first victim) and went to sleep because we were pooped. In the morning we went to mass at Old St. Pat's which is absolutely beautiful and we ended up knowing multiple people there.. such a small world we live in. We drove back to Glenview with Pat and Wrigley and seeing Wrigley solidified the fact that my first dog (and any from there on out) will be a yellow lab.. it just doesn't get any cuter (or more American). In case you haven't picked up by now, I have the most awesome cousins around. They tell the funniest jokes, know the coolest spots, and are the most easy going people I know. Lots of them to look up to (always a plus) but seriously I love hanging out with them and I would be willing to bet money that all of you would too. Since so many of them are in the military it seems appropriate to mention that today is the anniversary of D-Day, (and Abby's birthday) so just remember that freedom isn't free.

Deathly Hot Out
Today is deathly hot out. As was yesterday, although both of them had a lot to do with humidity which does not work for my hair let me tell you! Many of you may not be aware but not long ago I cut my lusciously long golden-brown locks off and I have hair that is a little less than shoulder length I would guess? Lately it has been too hot to even wear it down (I can usually be spotted sporting a low bun and recently I even added a braid to the mix--really stepping up my game.) Today I started (for the second time) p90x. It was a killer and my legs still feel like jelly but I feel better that I have finally started to work out consistently (and by consistently I mean today.) As a senior in high school I did win the P.E. award so I guess I have to live up to the name and start this regimen again. A couple weeks ago, Alyssa, Tyler, Zach, and I ran a marathon as a team. We each ran about 6 miles give or take some - I had the shortest leg and don't know what I would have done if I hadn't! I got to be the last leg and although I somewhat struggled (as embarrassing as it is to admit, I threw up every drop of water and/or Gatorade I had the entire race at the finish line) we still managed to run across the finish as a team and came in at a time of 3 hours and 42 mins! Totally worth the pain but I gave myself an unhealthy amount of time off, so I'm back on that workout grind as of right now. Tonight, Olivia and I are headed downtown to Meredith and Jed's house and are very pumped! The whole night is a surprise so if for some reason we end up in the slammer don't hesitate to bail us out (obviously kidding but that offer stands forever.) This past week I have been observing at a physical therapy office (the one my mom works at) and it has offically solidified the fact that I want to be a P.T. It has been really fun and I actually think I have the aptitude for it (FINALLY SOMETHING!) I have to go shower for my big night out on the town but I hope you're all enjoying the weekend as much as I am!

Guess Who's Back
I've had my time to relax and couldn't keep you waiting any longer. This summer has not exactly been eventful (I would venture to guess that I've slept 70% of it) but this break from school and work has been quite pleasant. Tuesday I headed back to Champaign for the second time already this summer.. I just can't stay away. But yesterday Olivia officially registered as a U of I student so next time you see her, welcome her to the big leagues. We're still trying to recruit Nolan; once we get him almost all of us will be bleeding orange and blue, we're just waiting to snag Grace. While we were in Champaign we took care of some business (I am not a hit man or drug dealer) Olivia and I simply measured rooms in Phil's apartment to make sure we knew what we were getting. After spending some quality time with Phil in his apartment, I could not be more excited to move in and everyone is welcome to come visit any time, only if bearing gifts that is (just kidding, but seriously I think we're still looking for a desk for my room...) I plan on cooking often and have been getting in some quality practice here at home seeing as that my mom is back to being a working woman. Any of you are welcome to dinner any day, we love company over here although don't mind my leftover college remnants in the living room because frankly I don't know where to put the stuff that won't fit in my room (I have yet to try putting it in my room but judging by the looks of it, I just know it won't fit.) Maybe later this week I'll raffle off all my books and some laundry that I don't feel like doing. Truthfully I think laundry is the worst, I would rather scrub a toilet than do laundry because just when you think you're done, you have to fold it all and put it away, buzzkill. My family is on this p90x craze right now. I am a little behind because I had a sinus infection (somewhat self diagnosed but the doctors believed me and gave me nasal spray, worked wonders.) Now, I think I am a lot better and am going to take the plunge. I actually did the first day but I've heard the second day is much worse so I'm taking some time to mentally (and physically) prepare for the worst. This past weekend (Memorial Day, thanks to all the soldiers out there both active and veterans) Park Ridge hosted a soccer tournament and I worked it for a longgg time, aside from Sunday, that is, because of the torrential down pour so I made some decent money. I'm thinking about taking the plunge and buying a pair of Sperry's. I'm a tad nervous that the second I buy them they're going to go out of style and a new craze will take over but at least I know I will have worked hard (in the rain) for those shoes. As of today that is pretty much all that's new with me. I cleaned the bathroom (following up on my aspirations as a five year old to be a cleaning lady) and I actually still enjoy it sometimes (savor it roomies.) I think I'm going to take my dog (Eleanor-shes getting gray and even white so with her old lady name comes old lady status) if anyone wants to join me they are more than welcome. I've got to go enjoy this weather, long sleeves and shorts is the greatest outfit out there and it is perfect weather for it! Good to be back and if you read all of this I commend you, have an awesome day my friends!

Almost Over
I'm genuinely sorry for not staying on top of this. I miss recounting my days with all of you.. it's almost therapeutic in a way as weird as that is. I'm starting to freak out for many reasons. The first being the biggest problem at hand, finals. In the next 5 school days I have 8 tests and they are not going to be fun but the end is in sight! The end, however, is extremely bittersweet. I can't wait to go home and have a break from school not to mention I miss my family but I'm going to miss school. Maybe not the school part so much but everyone I see almost every day. I'm not a regular in the downtown area of Champaign or Urbana but I do really like the campus here (I have my favorite spots that most of you know of.) So while I'm busy freaking out about my tests, I'm also having mid-college crisis. I'm halfway done and could not be more sad! If I could I would stay in college forever but who wouldn't want to. It is all going so fast I just want to sit back and enjoy what I have left. On Saturday I ran the marathon as a relay team and while it was absolutely brutal (I threw up.. twice..) it was an extremely inspirational experience. My team (Alyssa, Tyler, Zach, and I) ran it in 3 hours and 42 minutes and placed 8/63 in our division. We were pretty pumped and all want to run a half marathon now. We looked into the Rock and Roll one in Chicago but it is $100 because there is a concert every mile. I'll be taking donations so that I can actually run it (any amount will suffice-thanks in advance.) Everyone around me at the library is getting up and leaving so I'm gonna take that as a sign that I need to go home and take a shower soon but I've got a busy day so we'll see when that actually happens. Hope the rest of you can enjoy the sun today and congrats to my mom for starting her job yesterday! Big day in the Witry house, that's for sure!

Rainy Day
I have been so busy I apologize for not keeping up with this thing! Today is rainy and I have just half an hour before my next class so I figured I'd stop by my favorite library and give you all a shout out. I also stopped to blow dry my shoes in the bathroom because I found out the hard way this morning that my rainboots had a leak.. I'm hitting a major wall with school and studying does not appeal to me right now but we only have about three weeks left! Yesterday, I had my last chem lab and my lab partner, Kayla, and I were the only ones that cheered when our TA made that announcement.. awkward. I had to register for classes during the class which was somewhat stressful because all the classes overlap but I'll figure it out. I'm going home on Friday and could not be more excited! Easter is one of my favorite holidays and I am looking very forward to being home for a little. I was just reading through all of my tweets and I know I've said it before but you should all seriously consider getting a twitter, it trumps facebook and I just really enjoy reading everyone's witty thoughts. Sorry this one was random and I'll have some good stories for you soon. My best one of yesterday is the fact that Taylor and I (who already spend the majority of our time together and I honestly couldn't pick someone I would rather hang out with all the time she is the nicest, most modest, awesome girl ever and we just so happen to be in almost every class together) but now not only do we share all of our classes but we both have a bloodshot right eye. Weird, I know, I think they're both from sneezing too hard but we can't be positive, we just hope they go away soon! Hope you can all curl up and watch a movie or read a book or something tonight because its perfect weather for it.. I"ll be at the lib but hopefully Glee is new and I won't miss that! Catch ya later.

Stats and Go-Karts
Yesterday in Stats class we got our tests back. I'm sure i've mentioned i before but our teacher likes to hand them back one at a time by calling out our names. There are two major problems with this method: she is Asian and can't pronounce anyones name, and no one ever comes to class so maybe 1/5 of the people that were getting their tests back were actually present in class. Last test when she called my name she called me Witty, Mans. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt when saying that I write pretty small and tend not to dot my "i's" but seriously, who names their kid Mans? This time she called this guys last name and said she couldn't pronounce his first name. Someone from the crowd had to spell it outloud to make sure it was actually them and when they got it right she asked him how to say his first name.. he told her it was Scott. If that isn't an indication of how ridiculous this teacher is, I don't know what is. I got my test back relatively early compared to some others but one of my biggest pet peeves is when people are not efficient and have the potential to be. She is someone I would ever offer a more efficient method to because she would probably just fail me but one day she'll learn. Today as I was walking to class I felt like I was playing Go-karts. Not one person wanted to let me pass but being the competitive person I am I obviously found a way around them.. always do. Enjoy the nice weather today!

Mom's Weekend
This weekend was just one big success but right now I'm feeling the repercussions.. my throat is killing me and i can't stop coughing but it was well worth it. On Friday night, we had a North Carolina reunion at Abby and Claire's apartment. The only one we were missing was Hannah but she was there in spirit and we all had an absolute blast! Saturday my mama came and we went to a brunch and then shopping. You all know how much I hate shopping but I miss my mom so much that even shopping was kind of fun. She had to leave after only a couple hours but it was still fun and I'm glad she came. On both Saturday and Sunday nights I went to Kofusion, a restaurant in downtown Champaign and I'm not gonna lie it was delicious both times; I recommend it if you haven't tried it. It was Taylor's birthday so if you see her today make sure to wish her a happy belated birthday! Sorry it has been forever I have been pretty busy lately but I promise to keep up with this. I only have one test this week (yay!) and it is on Friday so while I do not get to go to pledge dance, it don't have like 10 other tests so I'm looking forward to it. I had to take Nyquil because my throat hurt so badly last night and I think it may still be in my system so I'm gonna go put my head down at the library for now but I hope you all enjoyed the weather yesterday and have a great week!

100%
For those of you that think its pronounced "the libE" you're very mistaken. It is actually the "lib." I have had this argument with many people and to be completely honest, I think I'm right 100% of the time on this one. One other argument I feel as though I have won is the Caramel Delights vs. Samoas. As a child all our Girl Scout cookie boxes read "Caramel Delights" and nowadays, I have seen multiple boxes that call them Samoas. I think we should stick with tradition and just call them Caramel Delights but thats just me. It is an argument that goes nowhere pretty fast but ask anyone from Park Ridge and they would tell you the truth, they're called Caramel Delights. Just now, I got my quizzes back in Chemistry and I got my actual grades (which were much better than anticipated #winning) but I also got 100% for my handwriting.. got to love that. I hope he enters that one into the grade book because I could definitely use a little boost. Today the sun is shining, I'm done with class by noon, I don't really feel sick anymore, and despite the fact I have not studied much for my test on Friday, I'm feeling pretty confident. I would say I'm on somewhat of a winning streak right now and I don't hate it. Hope the rest of you are feeling the same way!

Another week
It is terrifying but we have only six weeks left until this year is over. This weekend was a very solid weekend and I have already finished one out of my two tests this week so I'm feeling pretty good. I'm not feeling so good about this whole marathon as a team business. I kinda fell off track with my training and it is looking like a rude awakening is in my future. This weekend was gorgeous outside (when it's warm at night is my favorite weather.) On Friday night we had an all house event at Kams which is always a good time and Saturday night was barndance which is clearly also a good time. The chex mix lady, Loretta, left after I only had one handful which was the most disappointing part of the night but if that was as bad as it got, I'll take it. I definitely didn't accomplish nearly as much as I should have this weekend but I guess that is what weekends are for anyways. I've had an eye twitch for the past couple hours and if you have ever had one you know just how awful they are because no one else can see them but they are just beyond annoying.. hopefully it goes away soon. I only have 4 articles left for the Odyssey!!!!!!!!!! When this year is over I will retire from there (unless they fire me first) and focus my efforts on this lovely blog. To be quite honest, I am just fresh out of ideas and there is some motivated, journalist roaming the streets of Champaign that is just dying for a chance to write for the Odyssey and who am I to deny someone that opportunity. There will be a small (or probably big) celebration when it is officially over and you are all invited. Headed to class (for like the millionth time today) but I'm just that much more excited to go to sleep tonight. Hope your weeks have all started smoothly!

What a Tease
It is gorgeous outside and I don't even have any time to enjoy it so I hope the rest of you have! Today is my Aunt Cathy's birthday and I wish I could be celebrating with her (birthdays in our family are kind of a big deal-in case you haven't caught on to how much I love birthdays.) My Aunt Doll used to say that she was 29 and not a day older, she must have said it for close to 50 years but hey, no one gave her a hard time. Tonight we are having breakfast for dinner and I am looking quite forward to it. Lately I have been hungry no matter how much I eat (that can get dangerous) so I'm hoping some eggs and bacon do the trick. I don't know what I would have done if I had stuck to my no eating meat for lent. I honestly don't know if I could go for that long without it. Last night, Max came over for dinner, he is always quite the hit at the KKG house (not too many males come around because we're so far) and last night Brittany scored a goal in her lacrosse game! Today one of my professors was wearing stilettos in class. Why? My only guess is that she wanted to seem taller but I was uncomfortable just watching her walk around so I can't even imagine actually wearing them all day. If you don't already know, I'm not very good at walking in heels. In high school, I would have to walk up and down the block a couple times to try to break them in before dances but I always ended up looking like a duck trying to walk around. Guess practice makes perfect. I can't wait for tomorrow circa 8 pm because then my test will be over!! Wish me luck and enjoy this nice Wednesday.

Back To School
It has been forever, spring break really got in the way! I'm heading to class now so I'll have to discuss my spring break another time but just wanted to let you all know I am alive and haven't forgotten about this. I have three exams this week and it will take a lot of willpower to avoid looking at everyone's spring break pictures but there is a lot to look forward to this weekend (all-house event and barndance) so needless to say I cannot wait-just have to survive until Thursday night circa 9 pm! There are only seven weeks left of school which is terrifying because I will then be halfway done with college. It honestly feels like the blink of an eye and I'm just trying to enjoy every single second. Hope you all have a great day and even though it's cold, the sun is shining which is something to smile about!

St. Patricks Day
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all! I'm sad I'm going to be missing the annual party at Grandma and Aunt Bertille's. I'm pretty sure that they're going to have corned beef and Green River so I'm jealous! This day is awful and awesome at the same exact time. The pros: it is GORGEOUS outside (I was outside for probably 45 mins yesterday and got actually sunburned.) We are having ribs and mac and cheese for dinner (and I have a lot of guests coming so apologies in advance..) and last but certainly not least, OLIVA GOT INTO U OF I!!! I was almost more excited than she was and called everyone in my phone book and ran through the halls telling everyone I know, it was so exciting! We hope that she will be spending a lot of time at apartment 307 next year. The con's of today: I have an MCB test in less than 10 hours and I'm starting to freak out, my chapstick popped out of the tube so I can no longer use it, and I feel as though I could fall asleep standing up. Spring break is SO soon I cannot wait so while this is a lot for me it is for all you too, hang in there because before you know it, everything will be over! Happy birthday today to Meghan (St. Patrick's Day baby) and yesterday to Ben.. you all know just how much I love birthdays so wish them both a happy birthday if you run across them!

Pooped
I'm pooped! I should not be complaining due to the fact that so many more people have so many tests this week (my time will come) but I just can't stop being tired. I have caught myself drifting off in multiple classes this week and that just can't happen (I honestly think its the lighting in some of these rooms..) Either way, I will be done on Thursday night (well technically Friday afternoon but my big test is over at 9 pm), after eating ribs and Mac and Cheese for dinner, I'm so excited! I forgot if I told you all, but I think I've decided to cut my hair again. I can't take this long stuff anymore and it never looks good anyways. I'm hoping to come back from North Carolina with some color (yes, I will be out there no matter what the temperature is) and that always makes everything feel a little better. The week after we get back, I have three tests but that weekend is a second barndance so at least it is something to look forward to. Tonight is regionals on Glee and they're doing original songs this episode!! I'm really excited and will be watching it at the ARC so if you happen to walk by me laughing on an elliptical, don't be too quick to judge. I have class now but best of luck on all your tests everyone and have a great Tuesday despite the crappy weather.

So Close
Spring Break is so so so soon but I still have to get through my bio test which is gonna be awful. This year for spring break I'm headed to Sneads Ferry, NC to Abby's house with Abby, Mrs. Miller, Claire, Coy, Lauren, Claudia (I think), Colleen, Hannah, and three of their friends from DePaul. Basically, it is going to be awesome. It is about a 16 hour drive but I enjoy car rides so I'm not too worried. I think it is going to be right around 70 so we're hoping to get tan (I literally look like a ghost right now.) I've actually had the best last couple of spring breaks. Sophomore year, for the first time ever, my family went on spring break to Arizona. We went to a Cubs vs. Sox game at spring training and the Grand Canyon (we covered a lot of territory and it was really fun.) Junior year I headed to Key Largo with Susan, her parents, Colleen, and Amy. We had a house that looked like a Frango mint on the bay and it had an elevator in it, yet another awesome vacation. Senior year, Olivia and I went to Mexico with all of my friends and let me tell you, all inclusive was awesome. I think it will be a LONG time before I make it back to Mexico but it was a blast. Last year, Rachel, Liz, Brian, Grant, and I went to Naples to Grant's grandparents.. this was by far the cheapest trip and one of the best. We soaked up a ton of sun and just hung out, it was great. This year were hoping to make the best one yet! Just a couple more days until freedom! (sorry for sp errors, this one was quick)

Sunday Nights
Sundays are always my really busy days because I didn't do nearly as much as I should have on Saturday. This morning I was so thrown off because of the hour loss. I woke up at 10:45 which is pretty late for me actually (considering I went to bed at 11) but when I came downstairs, the clock said noon and I was shocked. I felt like I had to scramble the rest of the day but the fact that it was lighter out longer was totally worth it! Yesterday, there was a deal for buy one get one free burritos at Chipotle so obviously I had to go (I love free things, especially free food!) Molly, Lauren, Alec, and I went and when we got to the front and asked about the deal, the guy who was working wouldn't give us the deal because we didn't have a coupon printed out. He wouldn't accept a coupon on our phones but whatever. I would say I would boycott Chipotle but it's too good (although I never have enough money to eat there anyways..) After some advice from my parents, I have decided to not give up meat for lent anymore. I need brain food more than anything and I was really struggling without meat despite the fact that it had only been a couple days. Things seem to have calmed down with the tsunami and everything in Japan but continue praying for them because just because the big hype is over it doesn't mean their problems have gone away. On Friday night, we had a party benefiting Lauren, Molly, and Moira's tickets.. they each made $20 so it was a major success and on Saturday I fell asleep watching a movie at 11 pm and couldn't have been happier. I have started a countdown a spring break and I'm down to 6 (counting today) yay!!

Sunny Side Up
I just re-discovered a song (it's actually from the song The Big Green-one of the greatest movies out there) and the song is call Sunny Side Up, you should all listen. It is a happy, feel-good song that everyone could use right about now because the weather is so awful! The weather is conducive to studying but it is just so gross out there. Our impromptu is tonight but I have a stupid test tomorrow (shocker..) Another shocker came earlier today when I was reading a couple articles. The first being that Garner Hall (in the six pack) was voted the #1 worst dorm in America. I, personally, agree to disagree. I lived there for a solid two weeks and it was not that bad. I lived in the six pack for all of freshman year and while it was a little dingy, we sucked it up and it was livable, I never saw that many gross things. If anything, Garner was one of the nicer of the six pack.. I would be curious to see who voted in said survey. I was reading another article that claimed that Detroit, MI was the #1 most underrated city in the US. Again, I would love to know who participated in this survey. I guess I could always make my own and have you guys vote. Hope you have an awesome day and it's almost the weekend!

Ash Wednesday
It's official, Lent is here and I have decided to give up meat. It was already difficult because for lunch we had buffalo chicken wraps which no one could really eat today anyways but was still pretty tempting. I'm getting my ashes in about 15 mins so this is gonna be short but sweet. Monday night I went to the Bulls game which was awesome! It was such a tease being in the city of Chicago but not being able to go home (I was secretly hoping they would forget about me and I could just have my parents pick me up, but it didn't work.) We got home around 1:30 which was way too late for me but the Bulls won their 9th consecutive game at home for the first time since 1997 (don't know whether to celebrate or be embarrassed at just how pathetic that is...) This morning I had another test which seemed to go pretty well but I guess we won't know until next week! I think these past couple weeks have really been taking a toll on everyone but I just want to tell you to hang in there. Yesterday was one of those days where I really felt like dropping out of school and figuring out something else to do with my life. I'm still considering it but I've just got to make it through this week and the next and then it's spring break-I'm hoping that changes my mind. I'm hoping Modern Family is new tonight, if so you should all watch it!

Unoffical
The weekend was a huge success I would say. I thought Unofficial 2011 was not as fun as Unofficial 2010 but I still had a blast. On Thursday night, Olivia came over after I studied and we showered so that we were ready to get up early in the morning. We woke up around 6:45 which was also when we discovered that Olivia had pink eye (it is becoming an epidemic.) That didn't stop us though. We got ready and I went to my Chemistry class where we played candy pong (just picture that) and did group work which was actually fun. As soon as that was over, I called David and he told me to meet them at Phil's. I actually went to the wrong Phil's but they still welcomed me with open arms and before I knew it, Olivia, David, Peter, Will, TJ, Max, and Clint were there! Around 1:00ish I took a nap (much needed) and around 4:00 I woke up and headed to the Pike house where I saw a ton of Maine South people and Alyssa and all them. By this time it was raining so the fact that I had brought my cheetah umbrella was making a lot of other miserable people jealous. I heard of a lot of different arrests so we can all be thankful that it wasn't us! After that I was back and forth between Max's, Phil's, and the Acacia house. By the time Olivia and I went to sleep it was pretty late but overall a successful day. On Saturday I did absolutely nothing. I watched the O.C. with Moira, Molly, and Lauren for wayyy too long but no one was really motivated to do any homework. At night, my couch buddies had the unfortunate experience of getting their first drinking tickets here in Champaign. Apparently all the lights in Kams went off, and the police went around with flashlights and gave them tickets. We're going to host a party where all the proceeds will go towards their tickets because they are a whopping $310 which would put a dent in anyone's bank account. They've been taking it really well because there isn't a lot they can do about it. Today, I've been doing homework and went to the gymnastics meet to see Molly's friends which was really fun! I love having school spirit and they are so talented, they deserve an audience. I have a ton to do before I go to sleep tonight because I'm going to the Bull's game tomorrow (if anyone wants to meet me outside the United Center you're more than welcome to.) That is pretty much that and I already miss Olivia, David, and Peter but there's always next year!

Weekend! (Bascially)
I still have a couple classes in between me and the weekend but it'll be here soon enough! Olivia arrives around 6 pm and I know David's coming tonight as well so tomorrow there will be family reunion! Last night I went to bed around 9:30 which I also plan on doing again tonight to rest up for the big day. Last year on Unofficial, I went to my two classes because they were over by 10:30. After that I went to at least ten different places and had a blast at every single one of them. I took at nap at Peter's apartment from about 5-7 and that was the best decision I could have made because I was up until 3 am. I am almost never up until 3, my body tells me around 1:30 that it is wayy too late to be up and I usually have to go to bed but for whatever reason, I was still kicking at 3 so I hope to make it to bed at a more decent time this year. My mom sent us shirts and hats and minty chocolates, can't think of many other things we really need. I'll make sure to let you know how this day goes! To all of you that will be here, don't get a ticket!! I think the most common one they give out is jaywalking so just cross at the crosswalks and you should be fine. That reminds me of the other day when I was crossing the street. There were multiple cars waiting in line at the stop sign and one went so it was my turn to cross. The car that was next in line scooted up as most cars usually do but when they saw me they lurched forward at me as if they were trying to hit me. Not only was that (pardon my language) an asshole move, but it could have gone really wrong and he could have actually hurt me. After that I was just in a bad mood because what was he going to get out of that except the satisfaction of being mean. I wish I would have said something but he sped away too quickly.. next time! But on a happier note, Unofficial is tomorrow and spirits are high here in Champaign, IL. Come join the fun if you can!

Sunshine Day
I think the Brady Bunch said it best when they made the song "Sunshine Day." It is finally March and things are looking up! The sun is shining, my lab got out an hour early, and there is sushi for dinner tonight (at least I think so.) Right now I'm sitting in the Main Library in between classes (saw Phil here-no surprise there) and there is a pigeon flying around in here. About three days ago it got in via a window being worked on and due to the extra high ceilings, they haven't found a way to get rid of it. Molly and I decided that maybe we will bring some peanut butter here and save the day (free tuition may be in our future...) but even if we don't get the tuition, the satisfaction and all the perks of being a local hero will for sure outweigh that! Last night, Emily and I walked to Taco Bell. For those of you that don't live in the Champaign-Urbana vicinity, its a couple blocks north (and by a couple I mean a lot) of where we live. Why did we decided to walk there you ask.. crunch wrap supremes are 88 cents this week! I think everyone within 50 miles heard about the deal because we had to wait about 25 mins for our food but it was beyond worth it and Emily and I had a blast. The offer ends March 5 and I suggest that you all try it out soon (we plan on making one if not more trips back there this week-walking of course.) The other night Corby got his appendix taken out so if you see him give him a hug (unless thats too painful) otherwise send him your love! Just got my vitamin D while talking to Olivia on the phone about how excited we are for Unofficial! So much to look forward to and this day is beautiful so get out there and enjoy it my friends!

Home Alone 5: Stuck in Urbana
The title credit goes to Taylor but seriously there was almost no one here this weekend; it was still a solid weekend though! Friday night, Taylor, Burns, and I went to Kams which was kind of fun but after about half an hour or so we went back to Acacia with Will and TJ and made food (a great decision.) Once we were all tired, we headed home and while we were waiting for the bus some gentlemen yelled out of his car, "hey you stupid attractive girls sitting together." Now, we didn't know whether this was a compliment but decided he would have no idea if we were stupid or not so we concentrated only on the fact that he had just called us attractive and we were all in good moods the rest of the night. Upon returning home, I went upstairs to my roommate-less room (Kath and Emily weren't here this weekend :( -- but happy birthday to Mr. Oliver) No need to fear, I made a huge fort in Kath's bed, set up the movie Varsity Blues on Emily's computer, and went to sleep. The next day I did almost nothing. I ran outside which was not as cold as I thought it was going to be (I just needed some fresh air) and did a couple online things but today already isn't fun due to all my homework! Last night we went to a pregame at a frat here in Urbana (rare, I know.) and then headed to Joes and then La Rouge (yes, I stepped foot in it.) We were pretty tired pretty early so Alyssa and I went back to Tri-Delt and went to sleep and she was even kind enough to drive me home this morning! I then went to church with Courtney where I broke the pew (I guess I should lay off the cookies..) Now I'm just busy doing homework and daydreaming about Unofficial. While Unofficial is one of the greatest days of the year I have just one beef with it. SOOO many people come to visit and expect you to show them a good time. I obviously love to do it but its hard to please everyone (I feel like I have that problem on regular weekends and Unofficial is like a regular weekend on steroids.) So, apologies in advance if I don't see everyone or hang out with you for hours on end. I really do love you all but its just too hard and I don't mean to be selfish, but it's my day too, and I just want to hang out with my friends (and family because I know both Olivia and Dave are making appearances). Sorry to end on a somewhat depressing note but it's going to be fun regardless so the countdown begins: 5!!!

Mission
I truly was a woman on a mission today, to study and get places as quickly as I could that is. I took longer strides, took quicker bites, and weaved in and out of people to make the most of every minute I had today (usually I walk at a pretty casual pace.) I just had my Cardiovasular and Endocrine practical (yay that its over!!) I better have done well on it because we put in a lot of time last night and in the days before. Last night I was going to go to the ARC but when I got there I couldn't find my Icard.. have yet to find that but I'm praying it will show up somewhere soon. Because I couldn't get in, I went over to BIF where I did some of my other homework and waited for my group. I honestly have never had so much fun studying before. We took breaks at all the right times and I heard some pretty hilarious stories (too many to tell). Around 12:30 we (and by we I mean Taylor, Alyssa,Tyler, and I) ordered D.P. Dough. I had never had it before but it was absolutely delicious. We all got calzones, cookies, and caffine (3 of the best "c's" in my mind, especially while studying.) By the time we got it all down it was about 3:45 and Alyssa drove us home where Taylor and I finished the rest of our homework and went to bed, only to wake up mere hours later and get going with our days. Needless to say, all I want to do is sleep but one class left and I'm free until my quiz tomorrow morning.. it never ends. Can't wait for the weekend!

Long Time No See
It has been quite a while but yet again, one of those weeks. I had a practical on Monday which I actually got an A on! And I have another one on Thursday at noon which will most likely be much harder. I really don't have much to say except from the fact that all I want to do is sleep. My roommates, Kath and Emily, love to stay up late! Last night I came home from BIF around 2 and Kath was still awake and we watched the video we had made on the quad with Moira the day after Unofficial which is just about a week away!! It was a hilarious video and I almost wish we had more but we plan on making another this year so no worries there. When I went up to go to sleep I walked in our room and Emily wasn't there (or so I thought.) I put my stuff down on my dresser when I heard breathing from behind me and I legit jumped two feet in the air. Emily burst out laughing because I doubt she had been intending to scare me at all but it had a pretty traumatizing effect (or affect-I hate those two words) on me. Despite the fact that I was so scared, I went right to bed and had the hardest time waking up this morning, I'm looking sooo forward to the weekend when I can sleep. One awesome surprise of the day was that for lunch we had corn dogs, burgers, grilled onions and chips-no it wasn't very healthy but yes, it tasted absolutely delicious! I've got to study but I'm starting to brainstorm ideas for my Odyssey article now considering I can never come up with anything so if you have ideas PLEASE don't hesitate to share, I'll even mention you in the article.. have a great day and stay warm!

Birthday Success
My birthday weekend was the biggest success ever, I had an absolute blast! Thursday, after I came home from my tests, I went to sleep around 9:30 and woke up at 8.. it felt awesome! Friday morning, I went to Chemistry discussion where my TA sang us his rendition of Heaven by Bryan Adams (nothing better.) I went to my other two classes and then my mom came to visit me on her birthday!! We ate at FlatTop and just got to hang out for about two hours and then she had to head back but that was the best birthday present I got. After that, I did some homework, took a shower, the usual. Around 8:30-9 we headed over to Max, Ben, and Ken's for a little birthday party. We listened to awesome music, played awesome games, and I even got to give a speech telling everyone there that I loved them and wouldn't want to ring in my 20th birthday with anyone else, I really do have awesome friends. Emily got me a cake which of course got smushed on my face but it was so cute and delicious, I loved it. The next day, we just lounged around, Courtney bought me Panera for lunch, Emily, Molly, Moira, and I sat on the concrete part of Follinger and felt so college. We even made a new friend who has the same birthday as me but the only thing we never found out was his name.. maybe next time. Olivia was here (our reunion was so happy) and she and PJ joined all of us at Joe's for half-priced burgers (it really doesn't get much better than that) mine had bacon, cheddar cheese, an onion ring, barbecue sauce, and ranch on it - try it, you will not be disappointed! When we were done there we went back to the house, got ready and went to Kams. The line, however, was wayyyy too long so Emily, Maria, and I went to the Delt Senior house but not before stopping at Insomnia cookies (they gave me a free one because it was my b-day) and seeing a girl get a public urination ticket (don't be so stupid next time.) Upon walking into the Delt senior house, I was hoisted up and given many hugs, nothing like feeling loved. There we danced and sang and had a ball. On bus ride home, a poor young man was throwing up all over the bus so Jenna and I got off and ran the rest of the way home (I have the worst gag reflex ever.) Upon returning home, I was so tired I went straight to bed and didn't even hear Kath, Emily, or their friends come in the room! I'm telling you, I can sleep through ANYTHING. Overall, it was an absolutely awesome birthday and I want to thank everyone that made it so special. I wouldn't be the 20 year old I am today without each and every one of you and you deserve a thanks just because :) have a great Sunday!

Dunzooo!
Finally done! Tonight I had two tests and it was the death of me. I first had Molecular and Cellular Biology (yeah I spelled it all the way out to make it look harder.) It is actually Anatomy and Physiology with a fancy name but it was sooooo hard! I typically think those tests are really hard but that one was kind of a joke. I had that one from 5-7 and from 7-9 I had my Chemistry test. That seemed like a piece of cake compared to Bio but I'm still crossing my fingers! I'm headed to bed soon because I can barely stay awake any longer and I need to prepare for tomorrow. Tomorrow both my mom (whose 29th bday is tomorrow as well) and Olivia are making appearances in Champaign!! I could not be more excited because then my birthday festivities begin and if you don't already know, I love my birthday! I love birthdays in general but I always look pretty forward to mine. I'll keep you all posted on plans for that and on my birthday maybe I'll share what some of my favorite parties were.. I had some pretty great ones. Hope you enjoy your Thursday nights and safe flight to my family flying to CO-they're going skiing and I would be jealous but I don't know if I really have a desire to ski.. guess we'll figure out when the opportunity arises, night!

Hell Week Take 32418niner29783
This week seems to be absolutely awful for most people I know. Within the past two weeks it seems like everyone has had at least three tests, this first round of exams is always a doozie. I, however, am halfway done! My test this morning was more difficult than I thought (I studied some of the wrong stuff.. typical.) I have my two hardest ones on Thursday night-so say a prayer for me! But that means only three full days of absolute hell and then I will be free! (at least until Monday when I have.. wait for it.. a practical) it just never ends. But the other day I was talking to Phil and he offered some great insight which I am borrowing and sharing with the rest of you. Sure, right now, as we take our tests we fret about grades, working, volunteering, etc. all to prepare us for the future. Don't get me wrong, this stuff is important and I worry a little too much about it most of the time. But in the long run, as long as I have a husband and kids that love me, friends that trust me, and a family that I can always count on, who really cares if I got a C on my Chemistry or Biology test sophomore year of college. As long as I can make at least one person a little happier each day, who cares if I don't live in a big, fancy house, or take trips to Mexico, or have trendy clothes. It's about time all of us start living for right now because the world could end tomorrow if that's what God decides, he is the big man you know. So my advice for the day (which I probably won't take until after my tests are over anyways) is to not fret about grades but embrace the learning experiences. The only thing that really counts is love anyways so love as many people as you can with all the love you have because they'll remember that about you, not what grade you got on your last test. This all probably has to do a lot with the fact that I am stressed and trying to calm myself down but I honestly believe it and I hope you do too!

Heating Up
I'm sorry it has been a while, I've been pretty busy. This week is absolutely insane for me (I have four tests) but one is over with and I'm pretty sure I got an A! Last time we heard from Taylor and she did an awesome job so give her a pat on the back next time you see her. On Friday this weekend I decided to go out to prevent myself from going completely insane. We went over to Lizzy's friend Neil's and had an absolute blast. Lizzy and Katie's friends were such nice people, it was hard not to have fun. After we had been there for a while, my Chemistry T.A. (who happens to be their neighbor) came in a stayed for a little. We all then headed to Kams (where I stayed for probably 20 minutes-almost as long as we had been in line for.) Phil and I weren't really feeling it so we headed back to his apartment with Molly and hung out. Max and Therese joined and we had a great time just sitting there talking to each other. On Saturday, I studied and then went to Nikki's Filipino Fashion Show. Jacklyn and I went together and it was actually really cool. There were some cultural dances, some modern dances, and a fashion show. I had a great time and it was something different to do. I then headed back to the library and when I thought my stomach was about to eat itself I was so hungry, I went back home and had dinner only to find that Caroline and Shannon were visiting! Unfortunately though, I had to head back to the library yet again. Really living the life I know and it better pay off or I'm going to be mad. I've pretty much just been studying but I took a break to watch some of the Grammy's and I may or may not have Beiber Fever.. he was just too adorable (I almost want to go see the movie!) Mumford and Sons was really good too and I know I'm missing some but I'm about to be late for class so if you need to find me this week I will be splitting my time between the main library and BIF so hollerrrrr!

A little bit of this and that.
Hello internet surfers, Taylor here. I will not give out my last name because Maris's mom told her not to. However, you can all try to guess it. FYI, It's not Swift or Lautner :( Today Maris gave me the wonderful honor of guest blogging. She has bestowed this great request and I am just thrilled to be "speaking" to all of you! As I type this, I am sitting in my MCB class, a class that Maris and I just love to attend. We enjoy it, not because of the professors or the class material, but we get to see the greatest people ever, namely Alyssa, Tyler and somewhat Terry. Today we are learning about blood. Which reminds me of how hot Edward Cullen is. Yum. The idea of turning into a vampire is really exciting, I think it could actually happen. Seriously. I would totally be into that if I got to meet Edward or Jacob or even Emmet. However I do not like the idea of not eating. I just like food too much and Bella and Edward never eat. So Weird. Speaking of food, today I had a calzone for lunch...DELISH. It was filled with pepperoni and cheese. I know, mouthwatering. For those of you who don't know, I will be the first to inform you of this wonderful match. Maris Witry and Justin Bieber are fb official. If you don't believe me, look at his music video.

Well now that I have butchered this blog, I should probably sign off soon due to my embarrassment. If you made it this far past my 1st grader like writing skills, thanks for reading! xoxo, Stay klassy Chambana.

Pay It Forward
Today has just been one of those pay it forward kind of days. I woke up in somewhat of a bad mood. Why? I haven't slept more than five hours each night for the past week and I'm not the kind of person that can run on that little sleep! But whatever I had to get up and keep studying for the exam that I had this morning. I had my chemistry discussion before my stats exam (which Emily and I studied for for hours on end) and when I walked into chem, my TA, Ilya, had brought in donughts just because. He is by far my favorite TA I have ever had (not only because he brought donughts, although it didn't hurt.) Once that was over, I headed to stats where I honestly think I got a D on my test. I tend to over react after tests but this was close to impossible and nothing like any of the practice exams. My teacher is awful and I was just angry upon leaving that class but I'm getting over it because as I was walking out of the building, a girl ran up to me and told me my backpack was open.. very kind of her I thought considering I would probably have a mental breakdown if I ever lost anything in my backpack. We had make your own stir fry for lunch and that put me in a great mood! After lunch I headed to class and dropped my chapstick (unbeknownced to me of course) and a different girl ran up to me and gave it back. After that I felt like I should do something nice for someone else today.. hope the opportunity arises soon! If someone really wanted to be nice to me, they would do my post-lab and LON-CAPA homework, but I guess that's not really the point. Today is Dana's birthday! Yesterday was Colleen's, and tomorrow is Susan's.. there is something special about the month of February because so far this month, I have known (known personally, I know people are born every minute or something close to it) someone born every day this month. Exactly 10 days until the greatest day of the year!! Other than that, not much to report aside from the fact that I have now missed the past two Glee episodes and have zero time to catch up on them! Almost more than half way through the week..and stay bundled up because it is (literally) freezing!

Superbowl
I would have to say the Superbowl was pretty successful! Got to eat chips and dip and mini burgers and the food is really all I care about anyways. I didn't care who won at all so I focused on the commercials and I have to say my top three were the Doritos one where the one guy licked the other one's finger, the Bud Light product placement one, and the NFL one with all the clips from old shows (specifically the part where Marsha Brady got hit in the face with the football, I always loved that episode.) I went over to Max, Ben, and Ken's for the game and there was quite a crowd. Unfortunately, I got there a little late and missed Christina Aguilera singing the National Anthem and Lea Michele singing America the Beautiful (basically the only two things I wanted to see.) Now I'm kind of thankful I didn't see it because Christina Aguilera screwed up the most important song in the world! She forgot two whole verses and if you ask me that is a disgrace to this great country. People argue that she has a good voice but she is a performer and was hired to do one of the most honorable things a singer can do, sing the National Anthem at a Superbowl (one of the most watched programs of the entire year) and she still managed to mess up. I personally don't think she has that great of a voice (she totally botched the last note) but the fact of the matter is, she still messed up. I don't know how the Armed Forces didn't start looking around at each other wondering what was wrong with this woman but oh well, it's over and her career probably is too. Max claimed that Lea Michele wasn't any good but I bet she was, I still have to watch that one on YouTube. After the game, Caitlin gave me a ride over to Michelle's where Alyssa and I did our MCB homework (which was virtually impossible.) We finished around 12:45 and when we went outside to get Alyssa's car, it was gone. At first we thought it had been stolen (I actually thought she was just pulling my leg) but sure enough, it had been towed. I was very impressed with how she kept her cool, we called the company and Michelle agreed to drive over there. They dropped me off at home because by now it was 1:15 and I had an 8 AM this morning (still struggling from lack of sleep) but I talked to her this morning and everything worked out $145 later! So to the rest of you, be careful where you park! I'm off to class and my Mondays are always bad but I hope the rest of you have a great week and try not to get sick!

Almost the Superbowl
My great life just continues to get better. I was done with class yesterday by one and I did some homework and went out. We were women about Champaign last night and got to see so many different people. We went to Kams (which had the greatest playlist ever.) Emily and I are actually planning on becoming DJ's and hopefully one day getting to work Thursday night at Kams (look out Milk & Cookies.) Then we headed over to Kevins which was a blast. We then went to see our favorite Acacia boys and had a ton of fun there. Trevor, however, got bored so we all walked the five steps to Phil and Rizzo's. We were there for probably twenty minutes when I got a text from Max saying that I had been voted worst dancer. No one makes fun of my dancing. So, we headed over to Max's to defend my name. The dance-off will occur some time in the near future and you're all invited to come and judge who the worst dancer really is. But when I woke up this morning it was snowing like crazy! I thought this was all over but then it takes us by surprise. Actually, yesterday, I was shoveling people's cars out because they were stuck and I looked somewhat like a lumberjack because I was wearing a flannel shirt and my riding boots but it was fun. Now I'm just trying to get motivated to do my homework so I don't have tooooo much to do for the Superbowl! I'm out until tomorrow!

So Fast
This week has gone so fast! It didn't hurt that we had a snow day yesterday! I heard that home got hit much worse than we did here in Champaign but I'm not complaining. Tuesday night I got invited to the basketball game with Claire. Despite the bad weather (and by bad weather I mean ice pellets hitting us in the face no matter what direction we turned) we went and had an absolute blast! U of I beat Penn State (sorry Meg) and it was my first game so I just had a great time regardless. It was Claire, Abby, Molly, and myself and we were some of the only people in Assembly Hall but it was worth it, especially when the entire crowd started chanting "SNOW DAY!" I was sitting next to an old woman (the kind that takes stats) but she was funny. We stayed for the whole game and then hopped on the karaoke bus to get a ride home. We made a couple new friends on there and ended up not even having to pay.. It couldn't have worked out more perfectly. The bus dropped us off at Kams and we obviously couldn't just not go in! We stayed there for the rest of the night and it was really fun because there were so many people there and everyone was so hyped up that there was a snow day the next day. It was also Jenna's birthday and I think she had an absolute blast! We stayed all the way to close (the second time I have ever done that) and for the record I wanted to leave before (at 1:30 my internal clock tells me I should most definitely be asleep already) but everyone else didn't and I couldn't very well leave by myself. I ended up going to my second home over there on Third and Green with Max, Ken, and Phil. I really love those guys and we always have so much fun when we go back there and hang out but I was obviously exhausted so I went to sleep while they played video games. I woke up at 11 the next day (it felt awesome) and the rest of the day I did not accomplish nearly as much as I should have but it was so worth it. Katherine, Emily, and I clocked some roomie time together and that was fun. I feel like we are never all in the same place at the same time but we made up for it yesterday, watching all our favorite shows.. #1 being Modern Family which wasn't new last night! We definitely could have had class yesterday but I enjoyed our day off. Today, walking to class, I almost fell at least 6 times and it was absolutely frigid but I still made it. My mom told me that Nolan and his friends were sledding off our neighbors roof yesterday.. I want to go home and partake in these fun snow festivities! I also want to see the 18 foot waves that were apparently seen on Lake Michigan so if you see a video send it to me! Today is Brad's birthday.. February is a really popular month for birthdays (and its obviously the best month to be born.) Today I went to my Chemistry office hours for the first time this year and I had so much fun! My T.A. already knew my name and he was so willing to help me, I ended up in the wrong part of the building which was like the biochemical hazardous lab, but I found the room eventually. I loved my experience so my advice for the day is go to office hours because I guarantee you will not regret it. Hope your week has gone just as fast!
